چکیده

— An average Transmitted-Reference (TR) receiver scheme based on orthogonal codes is proposed for improving the bit error rate (BER) performance and the transmitting rate of Ultra-wideband (UWB) TR receiver systems in coal mine. Orthogonal codes are used for modulating the reference pulses and the data pulses in each frame of every bit. Since the orthogonality of the two codes, the inter-pulse interference (IPI) is greatly reduced. Then the decoding reference pulses and the data pulses are averaged in a frame, which decreases the noise in the reference pulses and the data pulses. Finally, I demonstrate this optimal receiver scheme by the simulation in the coal mine roadway ultra-wideband channel model. Detailed simulation experiments are presented to validate the effectiveness of this proposed method. The experimental results show that this method can not only efficiently reduce the noise interference in receiving signals, but also can provide higher transmission rate, which make UWB signal receiving in coal mines more accurately.

Optimal and suboptimal receivers for ultra-wideband transmitted reference systems

The optimal receiver for an ultra-wideband transmitted reference (UWB TR) system in a single user multipath environment is derived, based on knowledge of channel properties. The performances of this optimal receiver and other crosscorrelation receivers are analyzed and compared. The usual crosscorrelation receiver which is often used in UWB TR systems is shown to be suboptimal. In addition, an ...

Optimal and suboptimal receivers for code-multiplexed transmitted-reference ultra-wideband systems

In this study, optimal and suboptimal receivers are investigated for code-multiplexed transmitted-reference (CM-TR) ultra-wideband systems. First, a single-user scenario is considered, and a CM-TR system is modeled as a generalized noncoherent pulse-position modulated system. Based on that model, the optimal receiver that minimizes the bit error probability is derived. Then, it is shown that th...
